Tonya’s research and training in the field of trauma has become an essential facet of her work as a therapist. Tonya is the developer and founder of the Midwest’s first and only trauma intensive, Healing Within – A Trauma Recovery Program. The trauma intensive consists of an experiential therapeutic approach and holistic concept set in the midst of nature, allowing the surroundings to aide in the treatment and healing process.

Tonya’s understanding of the neurological and theoretical basis for the mind-body connection allows her to bridge the gap between traditional verbal psychotherapies and body-oriented psychotherapies. Integrated trauma therapy understands the effects on both mind and body. Trauma adversely disrupts the nervous system and it is through Tonya’s specialized training, professional and personal experiences that she is able to unite each element to facilitate a journey of healing and transformation.
